The Textile Museum in St. Gallen needs more space to exhibit its fragile large-scale pieces. A new volume sitting on the existing structure acts as a lightbox and brings three new exhibitions rooms. The soft curves of the draped textile held in tension shapes the space whilst diffusing a soft light, protecting the fragile pieces. On the city skyline the extension adds a new lantern.
